Join, participate and contribute to the Rocket.Chat project in Hacktoberfest!

We invite you to participate and to contribute to the Rocket.Chat project, regardless of your background and Rocket.Chat experience. There are many ways to contribute to Rocket.Chat during Hacktoberfest. You can work on code or documentation, contribute to localization or write a blog post to share your experience with Rocket.Chat.

What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest is a month-long celebration of open source software that happens every year in October. During the event, everyone can support open source by contributing changes to different projects.

Step 1

Sign-up to Hacktoberfest on the event website.

Step 2

Join our #hacktoberfest channel on open.rocket.chat
(you might need to create a user if this is your first time)

Step 3

You’re all set. Follow the conversation on the channel and get ready to start creating pull requests!

If a repository has no Hacktoberfest topic set, contact the maintainers to see if they are willing to accept contributions.

  1. Where to contribute?
    The Rocket.Chat project is on GitHub.
  2. List of repositories marked for Hacktoberfest
    You can just submit pull requests, no extra steps needed. For other repositories, we will need to get the repo marked for Hacktoberfest so that your pull request counts towards the goal.
  3. Issue queries
    We have marked some issues in Rocket.Chat Github which can be handled by contributors during Hacktoberfest, look for the Good first issues tag on GitHub.
